Premier Predictions (Week 30 + 31)

Football is back, and so is the predictions competition.
Hopefully everyone is still healthy and haven't lost any loved ones 💟

It's going to be a bit weird with no crowds, even with the TV companies offering artificial crowd noise to give the impression it's not just a training match kickabout. Watched a few of the German games and it's just going through the motions to placate the money men 😕

The teams are a bit of a mystery with some players not coming back yet due to fears about the virus, a lot of players who were loaned to leagues that have called it a day back with their teams.
Also rule changes like 5 substitutes each, and I don't think the home fixtures are guaranteed to take place where they should be?

Week 30 - 12 Games (From Wednesday 17th June to Monday 22nd June)

Aston Villa v Sheff Utd
Man City v Arsenal
Norwich v Southampton
Tottenham v Man Utd
Watford v Leicester
Brighton v Arsenal
West Ham v Wolves
Bournemouth v Crystal Palace
Newcastle v Sheff Utd
Aston Villa v Chelsea
Everton v Liverpool
Man City v Burnley

Week 31 - 10 Games (From Tuesday 23rd June to Thursday 25th June)

Leicester v Brighton
Tottenham v West Ham
Man Utd v Sheff Utd
Newcastle v Aston Villa
Norwich v Everton
Wolves v Bournemouth
Liverpool v Crystal Palace
Burnley v Watford
Southampton v Arsenal
Chelsea v Man City

Week 32 games are due to start on Saturday 27th June, but will include 4 F.A Cup Quarter Finals.
All in all it's going to be a hectic end with the season not finishing till the end of July, or later if Cup Finals still take place? and the new season originally scheduled to start the week after?

Good Luck All  😍

  5. Welcome back all :) First kick off is 6pm tonight.
Thought they said these games were all going to be free to air (I don't have Sky Sports), but it seems they are not. The first free game is Friday's Norwich game which is on the "Pick" channel, and the BBC have the Bournemouth game.
Looks like all the "big" games are still going to be Sky only for now.
Probably just as well as I would be watching wall to wall football for the next 6 weeks otherwise :)

  7. Football is back (sort of?)
Starts with a 0-0, although it should have been 1-0 to Sheffield, no idea why the hawkeye and VAR didn't give the goal, as the keeper was holding the ball against the back of the post??

David Luiz back to normal, only on the pitch 25 minutes but a mistake for the first goal, gave a penalty away and got sent off :)
Win for City, lots of injured players.

Tried watching some of the European games, German games with artificial crowd noise and cardboard fans but not much excitement.
Italian Cup final with no crowd noise, and a weird virtual crowd which disappeared when the camera was at ground level, actually made you feel a bit queasy. Game went to penalties, might as well have not bothered with the first 90 minutes.
Win for Napoli who were better overall. Still no domestic trophy for ex Chelsea boss Sarri.

    Day 1 Scores (2 Games)
    Paul 3, Gibbo 2, Biopunk 1, Lee 1, Paulo 1, (Lawro 2)

Glad you're all back, fellow NBTFers.

  9. Norwich v Southampton 1-1
    Tottenham v Man Utd 2-1

  10. Win for Southampton, off putting artifical crowd noise with cheers for the goals about 5 seconds after the ball hit the net.
Draw between Man U and Tottenham, De Gea mistake and Eric Dier doing a David Luiz impression.

    Day 2 Scores (4 Games)
    Paul 3, Gibbo 2, Lee 2, Biopunk 1, Paulo 1, (Lawro 5, Al 1)

Paul leading, but still not playing in the spirit of the game :(

  11. Wins for Palace, Brighton and Wolves and few brilliant goals.
Cardboard cutouts in the Brighton crowd and the West Ham defence :(

    Day 3 Scores (8 Games)
    Gibbo 3, Paul 3, Biopunk 2, Lee 2, Paulo 1, (Lawro 5, Al 4)

Not many points today, looks like we've all forgotten how to during the break.
Hopefully haven't upset Paul, but that's the advantage of getting predictions in early.
Gutted that injury time goals have cost me 6 points so far :(

3 games tomorrow and one on Monday.

  12. Wins for Newcastle and Chelsea and a dull draw in the Scouse derby.

    Day 4 Scores (11 Games)
    Gibbo 5, Biopunk 4, Lee 3, Paul 3, Paulo 3, (Lawro 6, Al 4)

Could be the lowest winning score of the season despite 12 games?

  13. Big win for City reserves, once again the lack of crowd noise meant we got to listen to a plane with a banner going over at kick off. Last night it was BA Betrayal, tonight it was White liver matter. Maybe Sky should bring an anti aircraft gun tomorrow :(

Week 30 Final Scores (12 Games)

    Day 4 Scores (11 Games)
    Gibbo 6, Biopunk 5, Lee 4, Paulo 4, Paul 3, (Lawro 7, Al 5)

Overall a win for Lawro, Gibbo comes out on top for us. Shame Paul didn't make predictions for the rest of the games as he was the only one to get a 3 pointer in a low scoring week.

    Congrats Gibbo :)

  17. Sigh ..........
Better from West Ham, no idea why they brought Anderson on? obviously wants out.
Bowen was a bright spark, maybe they should give Ngakia the money as Fredricks may be quick but doesn't know how to defend. Unlucky with the own goal but we rarely looked like scoring :(

    Day 1 Scores (2 Games)
    Biopunk 3, Gibbo 1, Lee 0, Paulo 0, (Lawro 3, Aitch 1)

  18. Wow these games are coming thick and fast

  19. Yeah, nearly every day for the next 6 weeks!!

  20. Wins for Wolves, Everton, Man Utd and Liverpool.

    Day 2 Scores (7 Games)
    Biopunk 7, Gibbo 6, Paulo 4, Lee 3, (Lawro 12, Aitch 6)

Lawro on a roll, I seem to have forgotten how to do this?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wins for Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley.
Finally a good game with the Chelsea v City match, although the commentators could only talk about Liverpool all the way through? which spoiled it.

Week 31 Final Scores (10 Games)
    Gibbo 10, Biopunk 7, Paulo 4, Lee 3, (Lawro 13, Aitch 9)

Same result as last week with Lawro winning overall and Gibbo winning the bit that matters.
    Congrats Gibbo :)

Not sure what's happned to my form? I'm taking this West Ham fan thing a bit too seriously :(
