Thought about putting my predictions curse on Italy but I'll settle for this

Looking forward to another nerve wracking 90 or 120 minutes, or the dreaded penalties!!
On the plus side I got my first 3 pointer since the first round.
ReplyDeleteGreat start and the game was there for the taking, but Italy are a good team and England's threat tailed off as the game went on. The substitutions were odd, Rice was being rated as England's best player not just by West Ham fans and he took him off for Henderson? Grealish seemed the obvious choice to open up the game but Saka was the only other sub in the first 90.
Grealish eventually on 10 minutes into extra time, and had more effect than Kane and Mount had in 100 minutes but not enough time to carve something out.
The penalties were highs and lows, Pickford did brilliant to save 2 but the late "penalty specialist" subs both missed and was surprised Saka took the last one?
Sadly I guess the social media morons will all be tapping away at their keypads :(

The BBC pundits mostly did well with Radio 5's Ian Dennis winning with 43 points, although the BBC use a different scoring system and have made Rob Green champion.
Amusing that the BBC's resident prediction king was beaten by the other 15, including Christian Fuchs who predicted 23 games less than Lawro.
That's it all over :(
Charity Shield in 4 weeks time, and the Premier League is back on the 13th August
