Premier Predictions (Week 01)

Premier League time again, so here we go with Premier Predictions 2021-22

Hopefully the regular players will be back and anyone reading this blog is welcome to join in at any point, just let me know a name and club supported so I can give you some colours.

T&C's - Usual rules apply
3 Points for a correct score, 1 Point for a correct result.
Predictions League will be decided on weekly wins first, if 2 or more people share a weekly win that will be classed as a draw, if at the end things are still level the total points for the season come into play.
Predictions in the comments please 😀
Obviously predictions will only count if they are made before the kick offs, please try and post the whole set at once (but I won't enforce it as these Friday night games catch everyone out including me).

Prizes - Just the admiration of everyone who plays 😎

  4. Welcome back Gibbo and Paulo :)

First Lawro guest of the new season is Louisa Roach from the band She Drew the Gun.
Not someone I'd heard of before, but listened to a few tracks and they are not bad.

My first predictions of the new season

    Brentford v Arsenal 1-2

    Man Utd v Leeds 2-0
    Burnley v Brighton 1-1
    Chelsea v Crystal Palace 3-0
    Everton v Southampton 1-1
    Leicester v Wolves 2-0
    Watford v Aston Villa 1-2
    Norwich v Liverpool 0-2

    Newcastle v West Ham 1-3
    Tottenham v Man City 1-2

Now you Chelsea boys have got Lukaku back I'm guessing Werner might not figure much? probably should loan him to West Ham to get his confidence back as happened with Lingard last season ... just a thought :)

  5. Brentford v Arsenal 0-2

    Man Utd v Leeds 2-1
    Burnley v Brighton 1-0
    Chelsea v Crystal Palace 2-0
    Everton v Southampton 2-1
    Leicester v Wolves 2-0
    Watford v Aston Villa 1-1
    Norwich v Liverpool 0-2

    Newcastle v West Ham 1-1
    Tottenham v Man City 0-2

    Here we go again.

Disappointed that City haven't completed the signing of Kane. They need a spanner in their well oiled machine.
I would put Lukaku in the spanner category, but don't think he can be worse than Werner.

You can't have Werner Lee, but you can have Origi....:)
Then again you have Rice, and he may still be stuck in 'Messi Mode' after the Euro final. Rice is now on my vindicated list. one of the few highlights i get from the Euro Final PTSD flashbacks, is watching Rice going Messi through the Italian Midfield.

    Good Luck boys, Game on

    Paul

  6. I saw the Origi link and was really hoping that wouldn't happen, like the other 95 strikers we've been linked with, could only happen if Origi paid Sullivan to play :)
Always feel with Werner that if someone could explain the offside rule to him he might be pretty good?

Can't see how Kane fits into the City style, other than he's pretty good at penalties unlike all the other City players :) if they signed Lewandowski you could just give them all the trophies now.

Rice has been awesome for the last couple of seasons, worrying that others have realised this now.
Glad Chelsea have blown a big chunk of budget as I guess that would be his choice if he leaves :(

  7. Hopefully Biopunk hasn't melted in that 120f heat.

Win for Brentford, they played well and took their chances and Arsenal didn't.
Loved the after game lap of honour, great for Brentford to finally be back in the big time.
Feel a bit sorry for Kieran Tierney who wouldn't look out of place in any side in the world.

First point of the season for Gibbo, the rest of us didn't go for a brentford win.

  8. Friggin’ Friday starts and bloody Brentford! 😠

    Glad you're all back.

Still hanging in Lee, despite the heat & all the smoke here. Never mind the pandemic.

Good job on thosee Euro predictions Gibbo, and enjoy your 1 point lead while it lasts! 😏

    Man Utd v Leeds 1-1
    Burnley v Brighton 1-0
    Chelsea v Crystal Palace 2-0
    Everton v Southampton 1-0
    Leicester v Wolves 2-1
    Watford v Aston Villa 2-2

  9. Footie is back, wins for Man Utd, Brighton, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester, Watford and Liverpool.
I think a few of those home wins might be down to having the crowd back, after last seasons record away wins.
Man U v Leeds was a good game, Leeds looked really good until they scored and then it all went wrong.

    Day 2 Scores (8 Games)
    Lee 6, Gibbo 5, Paul 5, Paulo 5, Biopunk 4, (Lawro 8, Louisa 8)

  10. What a great game, 35 shots all action stuff :) and a super result.
One game left, no Kane in squad for Tottenham? and Man City's bench better than most teams.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Wins for West Ham and Tottenham, Man City looking pretty average again sure it won't last?

Week 1 Final Scores (10 Games)
    Lee 7, Gibbo 6, Paulo 6, Biopunk 5, Paul 5, (Lawro 8, Louisa 9)

Overall a win for Lawro Guest Louisa just beating Lawrenson.
But in the bit that matters, it's a narrow win for me :)

Decent first week of the season, and reffing much better (so far).
