Summer Transfers 2022

So continuing with my six monthly pet project here's the summer transfer update. πŸ˜€

Summer 2022 transfer window now shut so here's where the Premier league cash was splashed this season.
(Info based on the best sources I could find, includes squad and youth players).
Pretty sure this must be a record spend for the Premier League with over £2 billion spent (what cost of living crisis?).
Last year there were the two big £100 million transfers (Grealish and Lukaku), but only two more exceeding £50m, this year although the highest was £85m Antony at Man Utd there were Ten £50m + transfers.

Big spenders were Chelsea and Man Utd with West Ham joining the club this season.
Three teams are showing a large profit, with Man City bringing in £190m.
Nottingham Forest have brought in a massive 23 players, the worry for them is that Fulham and Norwich did similar in the last two years and both were relegated.
Leicester making a profit thanks to the Fofana deal but only brought in one first teamer and two kids.
I've added a loaned out column this season, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man CIty are usually top of this but have noticed Brighton do a lot of it as well.

The Chart:

Oddest transfers?
A few surprised me this year.
Loans - Dan James to Fulham, Conor Coady to Everton.
Man City getting rid of so many top players.
Chelsea signing left back Cucurella when they had 2 quality left backs.
Tom Huddlestone to Man Utd, Jay Spearing to Liverpool

Early signs are Haaland and Jesus have been good buys, and several others have started well.

Well that's that till January  πŸ˜‰
