Here we go, the final week of the 2023/24 season.
All game kick off on Sunday at 4pm.
The title still up for grabs, although even a die hard Hammers fan won't be expecting us to get any points at Man City.
Although it would make a great story if we did pull of a miracle, and then Sean Dyche put the kybosh on Arsenal with a defensive masterclass 😜
Top 4 sorted,
with Tottenham, Chelsea, Newcastle and Man Utd squabbling over the minor European places.
If Tottenham lose to Sheff Utd (unlikely), Chelsea could grab 5th and Man Utd would need to win the FA Cup to take the 2nd Europa League spot.
At the bottom it is still mathematically possible for Luton to overtake Nottm Forest, although they need a 12 goal swing and I can't imagine Burnley beating anyone by more than 6 goals, or Luton doing the same.
Whoever survives it will be a record low points tally to stay up.
Current record is 34 points, Forest have 29 at the moment.
The 3 promoted teams have been awful, Luton have done better than expected but the other two have been really bad.
Arsenal v Everton
Brentford v Newcastle
Brighton v Man Utd
Burnley v Nottm Forest
Chelsea v Bournemouth
Crystal Palace v Aston Villa
Liverpool v Wolves
Luton v Fulham
Man City v West Ham
Sheff Utd v Tottenham
Good Luck All 😀
Thanks to all the regulars for playing along again 👍
One more FA Cup prediction to come to wrap that up next week.
Will do a Euro 24 predictions in June to keep me occupied, if anyone wants to play along?

I believe Lee! 😁
So in my fantasy imagination :)
ReplyDeleteMan City go 4 up in 20 minutes then take it easy, West Ham somehow pull 3 back leading to a nervous finish, Arsenal get stifled for 90 minutes then Havertz falls over his own feet to get a dodgy penalty in injury time and then they get a late 2nd as Pickford is caught upfield after an Everton corner.
News comes through that Soucek has scored an equaliser at City, Arsenal fans go wild as their game ends.
But there is a VAR check for a possible handball in the build up as the ball was blasted at Bowen's arm 3 minutes earlier, after a 6 minute delay the goal is disallowed and the game ends, giving City the title.
Of course both games ending 6-0 is more likely, but I can dream :D
Arsenal v Everton 2-0

Man City v West Ham 4-3 !!!
Sheff Utd v Tottenham 1-2
Man City are a cruel opponent, they will probably go 2-0 down, just to send the Arsenal fans into delirium, before running out 10-2 winners in the last 45. Hopefully West ham can start and finish what Aston Villa failed to do a couple of years back... Come on West Ham, don't let them win it again
DeletePaqueta needs to impress his 'possible' new boss, hoping we can score but Bowen out makes that less likely :(
DeleteOur back line unlikely to keep Haaland and co out :(
Cheers Paulo, hope you have a better one next season (same sentiment for West Ham) :)

DeleteMan City 2 up early, but Kudus brilliant overhead making them nervous.
ReplyDeleteRodri making it 3-1, then the expected Soucek goal disallowed for handball.
Arsenal after going one down with Rice's own goal, equalise before half time. Late goal to win with a goal that should have been disallowed for handball, Michael Oliver and VAR proving once again that they're not fit for purpose.
Liverpool win 2-0 against 10 man Wolves
Palace thrash Champions league bound Villa 5-0
Chelsea beat Bournemouth, need City to win FA Cup for Europa league
