Premier Predictions (Week 38)

Here we go with the final games of the 2024/25 season
All games on Sunday 16:00 kick off
Just positions 3 to 8 to decide, Man City need a point and Newcastle need a win to guarantee top 5, Villa need a win and hope Chelsea drop points.
So Forest v Chelsea is the big one, even a Forest win might not get them Top 5.

The prediction competition like the Premier League is now just a battle for 3rd place 😧

Last nights football, Southend on their way to Wembley to play former Premier League Oldham.
Europa final was pretty dire showing why these 2 teams are so low in the League, only goal when Luke Shaw handballed it into his own net, watched all the replays and couldn't see a touch by Johnson?
Gutted that Tottenham won, but couldn't see Man Utd scoring if they played all night, they were awful.

Interesting season with many of the big names (Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd) winning nothing, Liverpool get a 2nd Premier league, Crystal Palace and Newcastle winning cups and even serial losers Tottenham and Harry Kane winning trophies 😑

Still some football to come after this
Chelsea in the Conference league final on Wednesday v Real Betis (West Ham connection, Pellegrini, Fornals, Adrian)
Champions League Final next Saturday, Inter v PSG
New World Club Cup + CONCACAF Gold Cup starting mid June in America (if the players can get through customs?).

Anyway after all that here's Sunday's games 😃

Bournemouth v Leicester
Fulham v Man City
Ipswich v West Ham
Liverpool v Crystal Palace
Man Utd v Aston Villa
Newcastle v Everton
Nottm Forest v Chelsea
Southampton v Arsenal
Tottenham v Brighton
Wolves v Brentford

Good Luck All  😀

    1. Old trivia, when I was a kid my Scottish cousin was the only one that had a Subbuteo set.
He was an Aberdeen fan and only had 2 teams, Aberdeen and Celtic
I always had to be Celtic but have a soft spot for both teams :)

Toast to the Host 🍻, thanks Lee for organising, I know that blogspot didn't play nicely, but you battled to the end. I seem to have copied Liverpool the last few weeks, once it was in the bag, I couldn't buy a win.

  7. Watching the Man U Villa game, Man Utd creating more chances in 10 minutes than they managed all game in midweek?
Only goal so far Palace at Liverpool

  8. Just the Man Utd v Villa game to start.
Man Utd unusually excellent even before Martinez got sent off, Aston Villa truly awful?
Villa will feel robbed after a terrible decision by the ref who blew the whistle meaning VAR couldn't get involved after Rogers took the ball off the goalie?
Then Man Utd went up the other end and scored the opening goal.
    Emery spitting feathers

  9. In the games that made a difference
Chelsea win at Forest, Newcastle lose at home to Everton but still finish top 5.
Man City win, and Villa lose to miss out on Champions League.
    Elsewhere
West Ham win at Ipswich to get up to 14th place :)
Liverpool and Palace draw, will meet again in the Charity Shield in August.
Arsenal scrape a win at Southampton, Bournemouth beat Leicester.
Wolves and Brentford draw, and Brighton stuff Tottenham :)

Week 38 Final Scores (10 Games)
    Paulo 13, Lee 8, Biopumk 4, Paul 3, (Sutton 10, Paul Oak 12, Model 8)

The winner for the last week is Paulo with 13 points (3 correct scores + 4 single points)
Some hope for me with 8 single points, wish I'd put some bets on.

Strong end to the season for Paulo, with 3 wins in the last 4 games.

Overall winner is Paul, thanks to a 10 week run of 5 wins and 3 draws.

So congrats to Paulo for today, and Paul for the overall competition :)

    That's all for this season
Back with a selection of tables and maybe some other stuff soon
