Premier Predictions (Week 09)

Back again for another 4 weeks before the next International break.
The one advantage of Roy Hodgson totally ignoring West Ham players and picking reserves from his favourites is that non of them get injured playing for their country, unlike Man City who seem to have lost Aguero, Silva and Kolarov. Man United have lost 4 players with minor injuries, Newcastle have lost Tim Krul for the season, but probably good news for Chelsea as Ivanovic got injured meaning Jose wlll at last have to drop him? but hopefully he will back against West Ham the following week :)

This weeks games spread over 3 days with 8 on Saturday and 1 each on Sunday and Monday.

Tottenham v Liverpool
C Palace v West Ham
Chelsea v Aston Villa
Everton v Man Utd
Man City v Bournemouth
Southampton v Leicester
West Brom v Sunderland
Watford v Arsenal

Newcastle v Norwich
Swansea v Stoke

  1. I dunno what's up with poor old Branna. Still better than any of your defenders though!

Tottenham v Liverpool 1-3 (kloop toss-fest afterwards. liverpool win win league now zzzzz)
C Palace v West Ham 2-1 (nothing unusual as hammers revert to old away form)
Chelsea v Aston Villa 1-0 (a rare win for the chumpions)
Everton v Man Utd 2-2 (the game of the day on paper)
Man City v Bournemouth 3-0 (normal service for citeh)
Southampton v Leicester 1-2 (roman wondering whether to get ranners back!)
West Brom v Sunderland 0-1 (big sam joy. it's nice to be loved eh)
Watford v Arsenal 1-0 (big shock as watford only score 1 against the hapless gooners)

Newcastle v Norwich 1-2 (misery continues for the toon)
Swansea v Stoke 2-1 (bog standard home win for the swans)

  2. I'm gutted about Bran he was my goalscoring clean sheet defender for most of my Fantasy teams, but this season it looks like he's wearing lead boots. Jose seems to have scapegoated John Terry but I didn't think he'd played that bad where Ivanovic has had a nightmare season so far but keeps getting picked?
If you don't beat Villa then things are really bleak.
Nice to see Fat Sam back but even he will struggle with that team, at least Kevin Nolan might be back for a final season in the Prem :)
I guess "Klippity" Klopp must be feeling the pressure already, 6 days in the job and he hasn't won anything yet :) as you say if they win Saturday it will be unbearable.

  3. The scousers are bound to win mate. You know what they are like. Yea I agree about Al-Bran. Even the fans have turned on him a bit now. You cannot play shit every week and get away with it. Jose is being Jose though,he knows best (sacked soon, just like the rest) then new man, another 200 million wasted on a load of foreigners, another title next year, then only second, then sacked ect ect ect. Could be worse, could be a yid!

  4. Might get Ancelotti back? he was pretty good until they bought him Torres and sacked Wilkins.
Probably only happen if Roman chucks him mega wages and an apology though.

  10. Have to confess that I was shocked at the departure of Rodgers. Although it did say in the press, the next 3 games are 'must wins', Its not normally the Liverpool way. He was an okay manager but never really felt like he had a plan B. Alas its a new dawn, its a new day...will I get taken along with the hype and the expectation, Hell Yeah

Tottenham v Liverpool 2-1 (hope I'm wrong, but too many players out)

  13. Day 1 Scores (8 Games)
    John 9, Paul 8, Lee 7, Paulo 6, Biopunk 4, Longy 2, (Lawro 7)
Last minute goals cost a couple of us a few points, but reasonable scores :)

  14. None of us predicted that :)
Lawro did go for a toon win though, gutted that I've only got Wijnaldum in one fantasy team.

    Day 2 (9 Games)
    John 9, Paul 8, Lee 7, Paulo 6, Biopunk 4, Longy 2, (Lawro 8)
Still open in the predictions though, a 1-1 tomorrow means I sneak in, 1-0 and Paul wins by a point, anything else and John wins.

  15. I was really hoping for a Swansea equaliser but it never came, so no points for anyone tonight meaning -

    Week 9 Final Scores
    John 9, Paul 8, Lee 7, Paulo 6, Biopunk 4, Longy 2, (Lawro 8)
Congrats to John on a first win of the season (or should that be Jogn?) :)
Paul narrowly missing out again, but the overall table is getting tight again.
