Here we go with a festive double, weeks 18 + 19 (will do the week 20 after Christmas)
🎅 🍻 🎄 🦃 🔔 🍷 🍺 🎈 🤶🎄 🎊 🎅 🍷 🍻 🎄 🍺 🎅 ⚽
First kick off is Thursday night (the shape of things to come with TV companies wanting daily games)
On Saturday the top 2 meet at Anfield, prepare for Arteta to go ballistic 😆 with Villa hoping for a draw, as they meet bottom team Sheffield.
Forest's Cooper becoming the first manager out this season which will give hope to the 3 teams below them.
Man City play on Friday in Saudi, expect Fluminense to give them a harder game than the Japanese did.

I did expect a little bit more from West Ham. Glad I didn't take up the offer for tickets in the away end. Don't think I would have made it to the point where I would have been sitting on my own. My cover would have been blown on the first goal...
ReplyDeleteCrystal Palace 1 v 1 Brighton
ReplyDeleteAston Villa 2 v 0 Sheff Utd
Gibbo
If we were playing a lower division team I would expect that many changes, and considering only 4 wins at Anfield in 75 attempts it was a tall order even with a first choice XI.
ReplyDeleteBut those that did play did themselves no favours, was a chance for Fornals, Benrahma, Johnson etc to show the manager what they could do, but non did :(
Palace 1 Brighton 3
ReplyDeleteVilla 4 Sheffield Utd 0
Got back 1:40am not happy bunny
Cheers
Paulo
Once got home at 4:30am from Leeds, but at least we'd won so it wasn't that bad
DeleteBrighton salvage a draw despite having 65% possession (same as Liverpool last night) proving that stat means nothing.

Always post early for Christmas
DeleteNobody getting any Christmas cards this year, as I thought we had still had weeks?
Obviously think more of you chaps than my relatives ..... lol
Earlier Man City won the World trophy with ease, but Rodri got taken out by a bad foul which could be bad news for them?
ReplyDeleteVilla nearly hit by a classic hit and run, but got a 97th minute equaliser.
We all expected a Villa win so no points to add.
Pretty dull first half, but Paqueta pulling the strings in the 2nd half and laying on both goals :)
ReplyDeleteGuess Paulo might be otherwise engaged, but reminder you only did 2 predictions
Wins for West Ham, Burnley, Luton, Bournemouth, Tottenham. A couple of big shocks there.
ReplyDeleteLiverpool v Arsenal a draw, ref equally bad for both sides
Both teams should have had a penalty, Saka and Salah lucky to not get sent off.
Highlight was Tsimikas tackle on Klopp, dislocated his shoulder in the process.

A low scoring week, with most of the scoring done on day one.
On a bit of a roll, so it's congrats to me again :)
Week 19 starts at 12:30 on Tuesday, so if you can drag yourselves away from the Christmas festivities for a few minutes to post predictions I would be grateful :)
Just had the gas run out halfway through cooking the Christmas sausage rolls, which explains why they were taking so long!! and just found out the cheap turkey joint I'd bought for xmas dinner for me and one son is actually chicken .. oh well :)
Only works if I do an anonymous post first??

Shame about the late missed penalty, but I wasn't too upset :)
