That last one is hard. Our record suggests it can only be a draw, we are not one for progressing in regulation time. Lets hope Gareth doesn't start experimenting at this late stage

    1. You really never know what England you're going to get? As the headlines have read in the last year "the best England squad in my lifetime" or "the worst England team ever".
Apart from Mbappe it's an average French team, so if we're on form we should win? but do fancy us if it goes to extra time.

  4. Croatia v Brazil 0-0 (90 mins), 1-1 (AET), Croatia win 4-2 on pens.
Brazil never got going, Modric running things in midfield, Neymar doing nothing until he scored.
Too many of Brazil's stars looked ordinary against the experience of Croatia.

Netherlands v Argentina 2-2 (90 mins), 2-2 (AET), Argentina win 4-3 on pens
Fairly dull game for 80+ minutes then it livened up, Argies 2 up and Dutch not in it then one back and a last second free kick equaliser. Ref was pretty awful and gave 16 yellow cards and still missed loads. Dutch missing first 2 penalties but still in it till the last kick.

    Day 18 Scores (58 Games)
    Gibbo 41, Lee 37, Paul 32, Paulo 26, (Chris Sutton 48)

One point for Paulo, that's it.

  5. Morocco v Portugal 1-0
Portugal passing it around without worrying the Morocco defence, one good chance and one goal.

    France v England 2-1
Fairly even game, we got 2 penalties despite the dubious refereeing, Kane scored one and blazed one over the bar.

Allowed myself to dream a bit beforehand, after not really expecting much before the tournament.
England were good but not brilliant, but none of the teams have been great so had a good chance.
For some reason I don't feel as gutted as I normally do when we go out of major tournaments.
Maybe 56 years of failure has finally got to me, roll on the Premier league return.

    Day 19 Scores (60 Games)
    Gibbo 41, Lee 37, Paul 32, Paulo 29, (Chris Sutton 51)

Looks like Chris Sutton has blown us all away, but still an outside chance of catching Gibbo amongst our lot?
