Winter Transfers 2022

Here's where the Premier league cash was splashed this window.
(Info based on the best sources I could find, includes squad and youth players).
Many Undisclosed figures, but mainly for youth players so the figures shouldn't change much.

Newcastle the biggest spenders unsurprisingly, although I guess the fans were expecting Mbappe and they got Chris Wood.
West Ham needed players but ended up with just one youth player.
A lot of teams buying players and immediately loaning them out?
One odd transfer was Dele Alli who has gone to Everton on a free but they will have to pay up to £40m depending on games played, so if he got injured in the first 20 games Tottenham might not get a penny.

The Chart:

Total Spend - £316,740,000,000
Most Players In - Brighton 8, Everton 6, Watford 6
Most Players Out - Arsenal 15, Brighton 15, Wolves 14
Most Money Paid - Newcastle £91.89m, Liverpool £40.5m, Everton £33.75m
Most Money Received - Man City £49.5m, Burnley £27m, Everton £27m
Largest Profit - Man City £34.2m, Burnley £14.4m, West Ham £0.9m
Largest Defecit - Newcastle £91.89m, Liverpool £40.5m, Aston Villa £27.86m

Largest Fees Paid (£5m +)

Ferran Torres [Man City - Barcelona] £49.5m
Luis Diaz [Porto - Liverpool] £40.5m
Bruno Guimaraes [Lyon - Newcastle] £37.89m
Chris Wood [Burnley - Newcastle] £27m
Lucas Digne [Everton - Aston Villa] £27m
Vitaliy Mykolenko [Dynamo Kiev - Everton] £21.15m

Predictions Table

Transfer window closing on Monday night, and at the moment not a lot to talk about.
Newcastle, Villa and Watford doing some business but nothing too exciting.
Claudio Ranieri is the latest Watford manager to go, with Roy Hodgson in charge for a few games.
Patrick Vieira must be a bit worried as Palace are next for Norwich, who have accounted for Benitez and Ranieri.

Here's the complete predictions table so far, a bit confusing this time as everyone has missed some games.
Biopunk in prime position at the moment, but Gibbo also having a good season.

AFCON

For anyone interested? this Christmas period will be the last chance for over a month to see these players, who could be off to the AFCON (African Cup of Nations) from 9th Jan - 6th Feb.
Liverpool, Palace, Watford and Leicester seem hardest hit.

Potential 7 matches missed for those still in the Carabao Cup.

Premier Predictions (Week 16 + 17)

Another double week with games over the next week (see below).
Top 3 all have 2 home games, while West Ham get 2 away 😧

Possibility that their might be some Covid postponements? with Tottenham and Leicester having outbreaks. 💉😷

Highlights probably Gerrard going to Anfield, and Dean Smith taking on Villa. Chelsea v Leeds always throws up a memory of 1970 😄
Could be a bad week for the teams at the bottom?

Premier Predictions (Week 15)

Just a single week this time before the crazy Christmas period, although it's European games for some.
5 games on Saturday, 4 on Sunday and one on Monday night.

Early game is Hammers v Chelsea, Lukaku back fit just in time to get his usual goal against us 😟 a few players need to get some form back as the top 4 place is slipping away.
All the top 3 are away, at the bottom Newcastle have another 6 pointer as they try not to become the richest club in the Skybet (was funnier when it was the fizzy pop league).
Norwich unbeaten in 4 go to Tottenham.

West Ham v Chelsea
Newcastle v Burnley
Southampton v Brighton
Wolves v Liverpool
Watford v Man City

Leeds v Brentford
Man Utd v Crystal Palace
Tottenham v Norwich
Aston Villa v Leicester
Everton v Arsenal

Good Luck All  😀

Premier Predictions (Week 13 + 14)

Double header this week.
With 6 full Premier weeks plus European and Caribou cup games to cram in before 🎄 Christmas, it's going to get busy. West Ham, Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool and Tottenham have 9 games in 30 days.
Not feeling over confident about the Hammers trip to Man City just 3 days after a trip to Lockdown Austria, but will be hoping for the best 👍 Chelsea face Olé free Man U, don't expect much to change.

In week 14 reunion's week it's the Benitez derby, Ranieri v Chelsea and Grealish back at Villa.
Also the first big relegation six pointer.

--------------------------------------------------------
Week 13 (Saturday 27th November - Sunday 28th November)

Arsenal v Newcastle
Crystal Palace v Aston Villa
Liverpool v Southampton
Norwich v Wolves
Brighton v Leeds

Brentford v Everton
Burnley v Tottenham
Leicester v Watford
Man City v West Ham
Chelsea v Man Utd

--------------------------------------------------------
Week 14 (Tuesday 30th November - Thursday 2nd December)

Newcastle v Norwich
Leeds v Crystal Palace

Southampton v Leicester
Watford v Chelsea
West Ham v Brighton
Wolves v Burnley
Aston Villa v Man City
Everton v Liverpool

Tottenham v Brentford
Man Utd v Arsenal

Managerial merry go round over for a few weeks, new bosses at Villa, Newcastle, Norwich and Tottenham. Interesting to see if Kane can do it for Tottenham after 7 goals in 2 games for England? (Leeds are a bit better than San Marino).

8 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday.

Leicester v Chelsea
Aston Villa v Brighton
Burnley v Crystal Palace
Newcastle v Brentford
Norwich v Southampton
Watford v Man Utd
Wolves v West Ham
Liverpool v Arsenal

Man City v Everton

Premier Predictions (Week 11)

Friday night start this week.
Villa go to Southampton in the Friday game, 5 games on Saturday and 4 on Sunday before another International week 😒
The Manchester derby is the Saturday lunchtime game, should be an away win but you don't know what you'll get from either of these?
Ex Chelsea manager Antonio Conte's 1st league game is away at Everton, so him and his wig should survive a few weeks?
The big game is Sunday with 2 of the big 4 facing off, hopefully better than last year when we had our worst performance of the season 😭

Southampton v Aston Villa

Man Utd v Man City
Brentford v Norwich
Chelsea v Burnley
Crystal Palace v Wolves
Brighton v Newcastle

Arsenal v Watford
Everton v Tottenham
Leeds v Leicester
West Ham v Liverpool

Good Luck All  😀

A highlight of every week (even if we lose) is the West Ham clips game review (hopefully the Prem won't ban me?)
Warning ** Some offensive language ** 😁

Posting this early this week in case I forget in a football filled week.
It's another of those Friday night starts, with 6 games on Saturday and 3 on Sunday.
6 of the top 7 play each other this week, which is good news for Chelsea as they have Norwich at home.

Arsenal v Aston Villa

Chelsea v Norwich
Crystal Palace v Newcastle
Everton v Watford
Leeds v Wolves
Southampton v Burnley
Brighton v Man City

Brentford v Leicester
West Ham v Tottenham
Man Utd v Liverpool

Thursday, 14 October 2021

Premier Predictions (Week 08)

Back to business after another uninspiring International week.
7 games on Saturday, 2 on Sunday and one on Monday night.
Opening game sees Ranieri back as Watford sack another manager, probably worth a bet he won't be there at the end of the season.
Big game of the week is probably the West London derby?

Watford v Liverpool
Aston Villa v Wolves
Leicester v Man Utd
Man City v Burnley
Norwich v Brighton
Southampton v Leeds
Brentford v Chelsea

Everton v West Ham
Newcastle v Tottenham
Arsenal v Crystal Palace

Good Luck All  😀
