Not many surprises, the only controversial omission was Rio Ferdinand probably down to the Terry incident but also the fact Rio has been injury prone for a number of years and is due another breakdown?
The 2 best reserve keepers Foster and Robinson don't want to play for England anymore so an easy choice.
In defence I would have expected Micah Richards to be in after Kyle Walker pulled out injured, Phil Jones has looked dodgy recently but can play anywhere like Milner so that is why he is there.
Scott Parker was supposed to be injured but has been included, Downing hasn't looked that good recently but Adam Johnson has suffered from being a squad player at City while Downing plays regularly.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not a surprise as there was always going to be one player who bursts in at the last minute and he looks good.
Up front I would have liked to see Daniel Sturridge and Peter Crouch as it looks risky having to play the first 2 games with only a choice of Carroll, Wellbeck and Defoe none of which have set the Premiership alive this season.
We go into this championships with low expectations and if we do well it will be a bonus?
